Brownie’s and Cubs versus other clubs

My son has been going to Cubs for nearly two years now and I’m frankly amazed that he has stuck at it for so long! Not that I fear he lacks determination and won’t give things a go, just that, unlike other ventures he’s been adamant to try, his enthusiasm for Cubs has never waned. (more…)

Working Mum’s Dilemma (Part 2)

My 2 boys have just come home with their nanny – they always have such a great time with her. No matter what the weather they are doing something out and about. Today they have been out tobogganing, and then to the library, then back home with some friends to make Xmas biscuits.  (more…)

The Benefits of Reading from a Young Age

As a nanny, I make a point of spending time every day reading with my charges. A child is never too young to enjoy books. Reading with a child provides quality time with them, developing bonds and usually one to one quiet time where the children can be calm, relaxed and also have your full attention. (more…)

Happy Halloween

Halloween is here again, the shops are full of costumes and pumpkins and as a nanny it is one of the best times of the year. The children all love dressing up, face painting and of course making masks to scare the parents when they come home!!  (more…)

Toddler Groups and Kids Activities

Now that the summer holidays are over it is lovely to be back at toddler groups with daily routine back in full swing.  J started Baby Ballet this week which was the cutest class I have ever been to.  Seven little girls aged between 2 and 3 years all dressed in pink leotards and pink tutus. I was amazed to see how calm a ballet lesson can be with such little ones, and I was very intrigued into each child’s interpretation of skipping!! (more…)
