Each school seems to have its own way of accommodating teachers however we recommend that the teacher has a point of contact if they require advice or assistance throughout the day. Supply teachers also find it helpful if they are provided with a map of the school and shown the staff room, playground and fire exits and assembly points. It is also useful if they are provided with an outline of the school's Behaviour Policy and a summary of the special needs requirements of the pupils within the class(es) they are teaching. Supply teachers are usually armed with an array of resources however as a general rule if the day has been booked in advance then planning should provided by the class teacher. If the teacher is expected to do playground duty the please let them know well in advance so that they can organise their day effectively.
