Senior Childcare Worker (Term Time)

We are recruiting a Senior Childcare Worker for a Mobile Crèche Service based in and around the Centre of Glasgow.

For this role we require someone to assist the Childcare Coordinator in the effective delivery of a high-quality Mobile Crèche Service working with children aged 6 weeks - 14 years.

Salary: £11.50 per hour
Hours: Part Time, 20 hours per week with the option to carry out overtime at our Out of School Care Services and Holiday Playschemes

You must:

• be qualified to SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People) or SCQF equivalent
• have a working knowledge of child protection procedures and confidence in managing any concerns.
• have experience of working within a childcare setting and in leading a staff team

The ideal candidate will:

• be passionate about championing the rights of children and young people.
• be keen to develop positive, respectful and compassionate relationships with children and families who access our service, focusing on their strengths and aspirations as individuals.
• enjoy taking on a more lead role within a childcare service and can support staff to carry out their role effectively

What you will be doing:

• support the Childcare Co-Ordinator in maintaining a safe and secure environment for babies and children to learn and play.
• support staff to fulfil their role effectively and deputise in the absence of the Co-Ordinator.
• ensure that the individual needs of each child are met by maintaining individual care plans.
• provide children with the opportunities to have a 'Big Voice' and share their opinions and ideas about our Mobile Crèche Services.
