Job description

Tinies are looking to recruit an experienced childcare leader for a Deputy Nursery Manager position in a quaint setting in Chapel En Le Frith.

The setting is a very successful, excellently run, friendly and welcoming community nursery. You'll be joining a small team of passionate childcarers on this exciting journey!

Your role as Deputy will be...
• To provide inclusive play and learning opportunities for all children attending the nursery and to maintain a safe, stimulating and enjoyable environment.
• To be responsible for curriculum planning within the nursery.
• To manage the provision, including staffing levels in the absence of the Nursery Manager.
• To plan and deliver effective daily management of the nursery, in accordance with Company policy, all relevant legislation, plus local authority and OFSTED requirements.
• To ensure the provision is of the highest quality; providing a safe, stimulating and caring child-centered environment catering for the children & educational and developmental needs.
• To ensure that all agreed quality and safety standards are maintained in the nursery at all times.
• To liaise closely with parents/carers to ensure high levels of involvement and client satisfaction at all times.
• To support the Nursery Manager in many areas including the general running and management of the nursery and staff, budgetary requirements, marketing, meeting revenue targets

The Essentials...
• Min Level 3 Early Years Education and Childcare qualification
• Min of 2 years post-qualification experience
• Indepth Knowledge of OFSTED standards and experience of inspections
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong computer skills with knowledge and experience of Microsoft packages
• Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation
• Achievement orientated with an ability to use own initiative
• Well-organised and works autonomously with minimal close supervision
• Strong people management skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team
• Proactive innovative approach to challenges and ideas , plus strong problem solving capabilities
• Flexible and receptive to change
• Resilience i.e. maturity, ability to cope with pressure and difficult people.
• Self confident with strong interpersonal skills
• Willing to acquire new skills and undertake further training when necessary
• Enjoys working collaboratively as a member of a team
• A sound understanding of child development and children's needs with an ability to plan and implement an early years age/stage appropriate curriculum, taking into account the SEN Code of Practice, child protection procedures and equal opportunities considerations.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. This includes the ability to establish rapport and credibility with parents and the ability to produce clear, concise and well-written reports, e.g. for disciplinary, business plans for recruitment purposes etc.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office packages effectively and to produce reports and correspondence in a professional and accurate format.
• Ability to prioritise own work and plan in advance for meetings etc.
• Ability to build good partnership working relationships with staff.
• Ability to communicate the need for quality and continuous improvement, and influences good practice through own example.
• Ability to inspire people to deliver results, high standards and sets clear objectives for self and the team, taking appropriate and timely action to ensure targets are achieved
