Full Time Head of Room Job in Berkshire

Job description

 
A Nursery in Sonning Common are looking for a Room Mentor to join their team.

A typical nursery day is based mainly outside as they like to bring children closer to nature and immerse them in a diverse learning programme.

Days: Monday to Friday or 4 days per week

Hours: 7.30am-6.00pm with a 30 minute break (40 hours per week)

Salary: Salary £26-28,000 - but we are completely flexible and can be competitive to get the right candidate

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Lead Mentor and team to ensure that the Little Birches philosophy is fully implemented

  • Provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for in the setting

  • To ensure the safeguarding of all children within the Nursery

  • Contribute to the effectiveness of the team within the room by:

Communicating - this is vital part of team work

Supporting senior mentors striving towards achieving an outstanding grade with Ofsted.

Reflect upon our practice daily in everything we do. Things can always be made better.

Learn from each other, we all hold different skills.

  • To assist in the development and support of other team members by communicating effectively, sharing knowledge and experience, delegating tasks appropriately, identifying training needs, arrange room meetings, oversee inductions and 1:1 peer on peer observations - with support from the lead mentor.

  • To respect and value all colleagues, children and parents, encouraging a positive and diverse working environment.

  • To co-operate and work effectively with the lead and deputy mentor, taking on additional responsibilities/duties and positively promoting developments in policies and procedures to team members.
