Part Time Holiday Club Assistant Job in Devon

Job description

 
A holiday club assistant is required to assist in the running of a holiday club in Plymouth in a prestigious location caring up to 36 children. The club is run from a purpose built room and includes use of other purpose built rooms including children's playground, children's kitchen and a sports hall. You will be expected to assist the Leader with the day to day running of the club, care of the children, stepping up in the Leaders absence and guiding junior / new staff.
The holiday club runs over all the main school holidays, excluding Christmas. The working hours are 0800 to 1730 over the school holidays.
You will need to be able to cover all the core school holiday weeks which is the standard 10 weeks. Ideally you will be able to cover the additional 4 weeks which the holiday club runs. There is the opportunity to continue working throughout the school term for Tinies agency, covering nursery shifts, however this is optional.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • qualified to at least level 3 in a relevant childcare related qualification
  • knowledge of the EYFS and statutory framework

DUTIES
  • Daily running of the setting in accordance with the requirements of company policy, OFSTED and any other relevant legislation as per the leader's direction.
  • To be familiar with and act according to, Safeguarding Guidelines as set down by the local safeguarding board or Social Services.
  • Deliver and uphold the Tinies Vision and Mission on an ongoing basis.
  • Responsibility for all Health and Safety issues ensuring that the Health and Safety Policy is complied with at all times. - To escalate any health and safety issues to the Manager.
  • Ensure the safety, security and well-being of all children attending the setting.
  • Ensure that any food served is monitored and we conform to Food Safety regulations and any particular children's allergies
  • Assist the leader to ensure that a planned programme of activities for the children is taking place
  • Support any new or temporary staff and work experience students
  • Ensure the highest standards of safety and security within the setting.
  • Handle cash and card payments from parents, recording payments received and locking away cash
  • effectively communicate with the onsite leader and other staff
  • care of company property including Holiday Club mobile, camera and laptop
  • Prepared to work indoors and outdoors in different environments
  • Contribute ideas, feedback and suggestions to the leader and owner to continually improve the club
  • Attend necessary training when required

The position is to start in the July school holidays.
