Nursery Manager - Maternity Cover

A busy nursery in Bedford is seeking a Full Time Nursery Manager to join their growing team, to deliver the highest standards of care and education for children aged 3 months - 5 years. This role is for maternity cover with the possibility of becoming permanent.

To apply for this Nursery Manager job candidates must have:

• A Full and relevant Early Years / Childcare qualification (minimum level 3)
• A clean, enhanced DBS (Tinies can assist)
• Previous nursery managerial experience of at least one year
• Achieved a minimum 'Good' Ofsted rating whilst in a managerial position (not essential but desirable)
• Thorough understanding and knowledge of childcare and safeguarding legislation
• Thorough understanding and knowledge of health and safety, compliance, quality, and regulatory framework
• Valid 12 hour Paediatric First Aid and First Aid at Work qualified (Tinies / the nursery can assist)
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent organisation and time-keeping skills; results driven
• ICT literate and competent
• Critical thinking, effective problem solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to manage conflict effectively
• The ability and desire to bring out the best in people and be an inspiring leader

Duties for this Nursery Manager job include:

• To lead and inspire the team, getting the very best out of each valued member
• To create a positive work environment with a culture of continual and never-ending improvement as the foundation stone of the nursery
• To create an outstanding learning environment giving children a head-start in their journey to school and setting them up for the best possible start in life
• Ensure parents/carers receive exceptional levels of support, working with them to help their children fulfil their potential
• Take ultimate responsibility for the overall operation of the nursery, safeguarding, health and safety of children and staff, ensuring superior service and compliance with quality and regulatory standards
• You will be the setting's nominated individual for Ofsted

The hours are 42.5 hours per week, worked on a shift basis to cover the opening times of the nursery which are 7:30am - 6pm Monday - Friday.

The salary being offered from £33,000 gross per annum which in negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.
