As a Nursery Nurse you will benefit from working in a close team within the nursery which is located in a rural village location with good local links to York. It is a very popular nursery rated good in its most recent Ofsted report. The nursery provide a homely environment for children aged 0-5 years and open 8am - 6:00pm each day. The Nursery value it's staff providing regular training opportunities as well as free uniform, onsite parking, and a supportive management team. The position is offered at 40 hours/week which could be across 4 or 5 days, however the Nursery will accept applications from people who would like to work part time. The rate of pay is between £9.00-9.50 per hour dependant on age, qualifications and experience and is negotiable for the right person.

The ideal Nursery Nurse will have an obvious passion for working for children and be able to communicate and interact appropriately with children at different ages. A level 3 childcare qualification or a substantial amount of experience working in a similar role is highly desirable, although not essential for someone who demonstrates a clear passion and understanding of young children's needs. The nursery are happy to offer support with training towards a qualification or an apprenticeship.

As a Nursery Nurse you will be able to broaden children's experiences through play activities, bringing your ideas and creativity into the role and understand how to follow the children's lead to support their learning. You will be able to motivate and engage children, identifying areas for more support. You will be familiar with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework and demonstrate how to protect the safety and mental wellbeing of young children. You will be able to confidently communicate with other staff and parents on a day to day basis The nursery has a huge out door space so be a great opportunity for anyone with a passion for outdoor learning and play.

Nursery Nurse Specification
Ideally level 3 childcare qualified (not essential)
A clear passion for working in childcare
Great communication skills
Organised and timely
Previous childcare experience desirable
DBS essential (support can be given to obtain this)
