Part Time Play Worker Job in North Yorkshire

Job description

Looking for a part time role? Are you creative, love sports or have a passion you'd love to share with others? Can you see yourself working with school age children? We are recruiting for Playworkers in Bedale!

As a Playworker you will benefit from gaining fantastic experience working with school age children on weekdays around school, with additional hours offered during school holidays. This role could suit students or people looking for part time employment. Opportunity to work with younger children around this may also be offered. You will be part of a supportive team and have access to a range of training opportunities so previous experience although very desirable, is not essential for the right person who is able to demonstrate their great transferable skills and attitude.

As a Playworker you will be able to create a safe, fun and welcoming environment for all children and their families within the local community. You will be a great communicator and be able to play proactively with all children across the age range; organising, supervising and engaging in indoor and outdoor activities. You will have ideas of how to share any of your own hobbies or interests in the club, such as sports, arts, crafts, drama, nature, language and culture etc. You will be able to assist in the day-to-day organisation of the club including ensuring the safe arrival and departure of children and acting in a professional manner to build a relationship of trust with both the children and their families.

As a Playworker you will work weekdays during term time between 7:30am - 9am and/or 3pm - 6:00pm operating in the setting's premises with children aged 4-11 years. During school holidays the club operates full days 7:30am - 6:00pm and opportunities for more hours are available. Ideally the right person will be able to support both before and after school, but we are willing to consider applications from those looking at either am or pm, or both. Additional hours may be offered with younger children during the day during term time for those looking to work longer hours. The salary is depending on age, qualification and previous experience and is negotiable for the right person.

All appointments are subject to receiving an enhanced childcare disclosure as well as appropriate references. If you are interested in becoming a part of the nursery team, please get in touch today!

The crèche went down a treat and all the parents said their kids loved it - even those that had not been in a crèche before. The parents loved it as it was a break away and meant they could relax and enjoy the meal and speeches. Thank you so much, your staff must have done a brilliant job.
