Levels 3 & 5 training courses from Tinies Training

Level 3 Diploma - EYE

Course:

Level 3 Diploma for Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) Qualification No. 601/2629/2

Duration:

Early Years Practitioner learners can usually complete the Diploma within 12-18 months if fully supported by the employer.

Content:

This qualification is designed to help learners build the knowledge and skills needed when working with children - the age range gives full focus to Early Years. The Diploma prepares learners to become Early Years Educators enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years.

Assessment:

The Cache qualification is structured around 4 themes.

  • Theme 1 - Health and Well-Being
  • Theme 2 - Legislation, Frameworks and Professional Practice
  • Theme 3 - Play, Developmental and Learning for School Readiness
  • Theme 4 - Professional Development

Learners must achieve:

  • 23 mandatory units

Learner reflection is actively promoted and the learner will be further supported to conduct child observations and assessments.

The learner will need to pass all units, complete a longitudinal study and show competence in a real work environment. Learners should demonstrate approximately 350 placement hours.

Note:

Following the Government's announcement that the Level 3 early years educator qualification can now be supported by the Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English or GCSE Maths and English to be counted in ratio within an early years setting by Ofsted, we are pleased to confirm that we can support learners with either functional skills or GCSE study.

Level 3 Certificate - Forest School

Course:

Level 3 Certificate in Forest School Leadership in Early Years Settings - Qualification No. 601/4114/1

Duration:

Usually within 9 months.

Content:

This qualification is designed to provide secure understanding of the knowledge and skills needed to plan and lead groups in forest school programmes and activities

Assessment:

The learner must achieve 18 credits from 5 mandatory units:

  • Delivery of a forest school programme - 3 credits
  • Forest school programmes and the woodland enviroment - 3 credits
  • Learning and development of a forest school programme - 6 credits
  • Planning and implementing a forest school programme - 3 credits
  • Practice skills for a forest school programme - 3 credits

The qualification will enable learners to:

  • Develop an understanding of the principles and ethos of forest schools
  • Gain skills and learning of life in the outdoors
  • Prepare learners for further study and employment in the outdoors
  • Gain continuing professional development
  • Become a forest school programme leader

NOTE: In addition, to achieve the qualification Learners must attend, or currently hold, a first aid certificate in an outdoor environment. We are also able to deliver this training which is separate to the Level 3 Certificate in FSL.

Level 4 Certificate for the Early Years Advanced Practitioner

Course:

Level 4 Certificate for the Early Years Advanced Practitioner - Qualification No. 601/8424/3

Duration:

For those who have previously achieved a full level 3 qualification in childcare - Approximately 4 months.

Content:

This qualification aims to provide professional development opportunities for early years practitioners. Learners will acquire and use skills of leadership, mentoring, coaching & reflection as they complete the qualification through work-based learning opportunities.

Assessment:

Learners must achieve 5 mandatory units, Total qualification time: 196 hours, Total Guided Learning Hours: 136. Assessment is by an assigned Assessor through work-based assignment submitted vie the Laser e-learning system.

Level 5

Course:

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services (England) (QCF) 90 Credits, Qualification No. 601/4312/5

Duration:

Dependent on learner (estimated 1 year commitment).

Content:

The aim of the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership is to provide learners with the skills and knowledge needed to manage practice and lead others in Adult Health and Social Care provision and Children And Young People's Services.

Assessment:

Irrelevant of pathway, Learners must complete the 6 Group A Core Mandatory Units - total credit value 30 - which are:

  • Use and develop systems that promote communication
  • Promote professional development
  • Champion equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Develop health and safety and risk management policies, procedures and practices in health and social care OR children and young people's settings
  • Work in partnership in health and social care OR children and young people's settings
  • Undertake a research project within services for health and social care OR children and young people

The Advanced Practice Pathway is geared towards senior practitioners who would like to develop their career but wish to remain active practitioners within the management framework. CYPW Learners must complete an additional 4 Mandatory Units from Group D - total credit value 26 - and a range of optional units. AHSC Learners must complete an additional 5 Mandatory Units from Group G - total credit value 21 - and a range of optional units.

The Management Pathway is most suitable for Deputy Managers looking to progress their career and for Managers who have not yet achieved a qualification at this level. CYPW Learners must complete additional 6 Mandatory Units from Group C - total credit value 38 - and a range of optional units. AHSC Learners must complete an additional 7 Mandatory Units from Group F - total credit value 33 - and a range of optional units.

Full assessor support and visits are provided. We use an e-learning on-line system called LASER.
