Full Time Head of Room Job in Stirlingshire

Job description

 
We are looking to recruit on behalf of our client a Senior Nursery Practitioner to work in their brand new purpose built nursery on Stirling. We have worked with this particular award wining Nursery Client for over a decade, as they have numerous settings throughout Scotland.

As part of this role you will be involved in planning and implementing an appropriately balanced early years programme of activity encompassing the Curriculum for Excellence within the Pre-school room and the Pre-Birth to three Curriculum in our 0-3 unit whilst providing a caring, safe and welcoming environment for children which will allow each child to develop at their own rate. Have knowledge of current national guidance and other relevant materials that will guide planning.

To assist the management and provision of flexible childcare and education service to meet the needs of the young children and their families in the Nursery.

Your Resposibilties will include

To undertake appropriate duties to ensure the day-to-day operation of their Room, including deputising for more senior members of staff in their absence.
Day-to-day supervision of Early Years Officers, Carousel Students and / or College Students.
To implement suitable programmes, activities and experiences for young children attending the Nursery within the 0-5 age range.
To liaise with and work collaboratively with other professionals from a variety of disciplines.
To support parents in liaising with other professionals.
To support and develop parental participation and relations with the community.
To participate in curriculum development.
To provide appropriate vision for children with additional support needs.
To observe, record and assess through interaction and development of the individual needs of children.
To maintain written records, prepare reports and other appropriate documentation required by the Nursery. Also making sure the staff within the Room is completing the documentation required by them.
To monitor and evaluate the quality of the service being provided and contributed to the Nursery's development planning.
To participate in a range of meetings relevant to individual children or the organisation of the Nursery.
Any other duties relevant to the efficient and effective operation of the nursery.
You must be registered with the SSSC or an equivalent registered body.
You are required to follow company policies and procedures
To participate in and contribute to staff development opportunities for self and others.
To implement child protection procedures and support children and families through crisis.
To be involved in the purchasing, utilising and maintaining appropriate resources associated with delivering the aims of the Nursery.
To participate in Nursery outings adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Administrative duties as delegated by the Nursery Manager or Floor Manager.

The ideal Candidate will is required to possess a level 3 Childcare Qualification HNC or SVQ III in Childcare and Education or equivalent.

Depth of understanding of the factors affecting flexible quality childcare and early years provision.
Ability to take on a leadership role with the staff team.
Proven interpersonal and communication skills in relation to working with staff, parents and the community.
Evidence of continuing professional development.
An in-depth understanding of National Curriculum and Planning.
A comprehensive understanding of the individual developmental needs of young children
