We are currently recruiting for a motivated and dynamic nursery manager who will spearhead a fantastic purpose built setting in Glasgow City Centre. The successful candidate will have the passion, drive and commitment to motivate the team into delivering exceptional service to children, parents and colleagues alike. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manager, or someone looking to take the next step on the career ladder.

In your role as Nursery Manager, you will:
Motivate your team by leading by example
Support your staff by making sure they are properly trained in all aspects of childcare in order to deliver the highest standards of childcare to children in their care
Support staff retention and team building through effective communication, succession planning and team engagement
Ensure parent partnership by developing better communication, share information, and allow parent input
Have a child centred approach to the running of the service, ensuring the observation and planning process meets the needs of all children and their interests
Manage and monitor of all health and safety practices and progress checks
Understand the importance of keeping everybody safe and act as a designated person for safeguarding children
Effectively managing staff to ensure ratios are in accordance with statutory regulations and budgets
Administer, maintain, monitor and report on all relevant finances
Encourages all staff members to mentor other colleagues and will continue their CPD through a range of different resources


Essential Skills and Experience Required:
The ability to show compassion and empathy to children, parents and colleagues
Hold a BA in Childhood Practice, or willingness to work towards it.
Previous Management experience in relevant settings.
Able to have compassion and an ability to understand a child's view
Have strong communication skills with adults and children using a variety of techniques.
Motivate, inspire, and lead a team, encouraging team effort.
Provide coaching and mentoring.
Able to manage the performance of others and succession plan
Demonstrate good financial acumen with the skills to manage budgets
Able to manage workload and manage time effectively to deliver the desired results.

In return as the successful candidate you can expect a highly competitive salary of between £32,000.00 to £47,000.00 per annum . There are great training and development opportunities. You may have the opportunity to progress internationally with this client or you may just prefer being outrageously successful where you are. You will either hold a BA or be willing to work towards this qualification. In line with all professional expectations you will be a member of the PVG and SSSC schemes
