Based in Oxford OX2

40 hours per week, 8:45am - 5:30pm
Mondays to Fridays (which includes a 45 min unpaid lunch break)

The Early Years Apprentice will be given the unique opportunity to join a team of extremely
passionate early years professionals and discover what it takes to offer truly exceptional
experiences to children and to learn from the best, while completing their level 2 Qualification to
become a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner (also known as an Early Years Assistant)
The successful candidate will be expected to shadow one of our Early Years Practitioners in their
daily duties until we feel they are competent enough to step into the role of key person to a small
group of children.
Apprentices will be expected to demonstrate their learning and understanding while interacting
with their peers, the children and parents/ carers where appropriate. You will also be expected to
uphold the high standards and professionalism of the nursery team both in and out of the setting.

Key responsibilities:
? Being proactive and using initiative to make sure training requirements are being completed
in a timely manner and to a high standard
? Being an active learner
? Safeguarding children at all times
? Inspiring children with positivity and a can-do attitude
? Bringing fun into the day
? Being a positive role model
? Having meaningful interactions with children
? Supporting children's learning through play
? Voicing opinions and sharing ideas with peers
? Communicating with parents/ carers (verbally and electronically)
? Acting as a team to manage daily tasks
? Maintaining cleanliness within the setting
? To ensure records are properly maintained, e.g. daily attendance register, accident and
incident book, daily risk assessments
? Valuing the voices of the children, parents/ carers and peers
? Attending informal and formal meetings
? Carrying out intimate care routines
? Contributing to company wide presentations

? Computer literate
? Good use of written and spoken English
? Ability to work as part of a team
? No previous qualifications or training required
