Full Time Nursery Nurse Job in Oxfordshire
Job description
Purpose of the job: To provide safe, high quality education and care for nursery children with an emphasis on outdoor learning
This would suit people who love working with children and enjoy working outdoors in any weather!
Qualifications: We are looking for staff with Level 2 qualifications or staff working towards this.
Main duties:
Working within the team to deliver high quality education and care throughout the nursery and:
*take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children
*be a key-person to a group of children
*plan, create and implement nursery activities and events suitable for all children with a focus on outdoor learning
*implement systems of observation and record keeping so that children's progress is effectively and regularly assessed
*To promote positive behaviour and support children's personal, social and emotional development
*To foster children's growth, self esteem and independence
*to create an environment where children are able to explore and take reasonable risks
*To observe children, assess their development and use this information to inform planning
*develop positive partnerships with families and liaise closely with parents/carers, informing them about the nursery and its curriculum, exchanging information about children's progress and encouraging parents' involvement in their children's learning
*ensure records are properly maintained, e.g. daily attendance register, accident and incident records
*ensure the nursery is a safe environment for children, that equipment is safe, standards of hygiene are high, safety procedures are implemented at all times
*advise the manager of any concerns, accidents/incidents
*assist in the preparation, serving and cleaning up of meal times
*assist in providing a high quality of teaching and offer appropriate stimulation and support to all children including those with additional needs and those for whom English is an additional language
*support children on a 1-1 basis and keep a record of individual interventions
*be a member of a multidisciplinary team, communicating and working together to create an environment in which children's development is fostered and in which strong, positive relationships grow
*ensure that all legal and statutory requirements are implemented; to provide reports as required.
*adhere to the nursery policies and procedures
*attend in-service training and meetings as required
*carry out any other tasks which may reasonably be required as part of this post
38 hours per week - 9am to 5.30pm or 8.30am to 5pm
Salary:
Unqualified £20,900 gross per annum
Qualified £22,800 gross per annum and upwards depending on qualification
