An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Early Years Officer to join the team at a large, well established nursery school in Northampton (NN5)
This is a full time, all year round role, working Monday to Friday on a shift pattern of 8:00am – 4:15pm and 9:45am – 6pm.
The annual salary being offered for this role is £26,824.00 gross.
The duties for this Early Years office role include:
• To ensure the standards of teaching and learning in the nursery school are of the highest possible quality
• To be responsible for a large group of children in the specialist provision unit, including planning learning, resourcing the environment, evaluating learning, and record keeping
• To work alongside Early Years Assistants (EYAs) who will support you in the planning, preparation, and delivery of learning and development
• Overseeing and providing the planning and delivery of group times and scheduled work time, to ensure they meet the specific needs of your group of children
• To analyse children's progress and attainment -identifying trends and areas of strength, as well as next steps
• To be aware of stages of development, so as to be able to make judgements about children's development
• Undertaking home visits to gather information about new starters
• Completing termly assessments on children's development
• Organising and co-ordinating parent/carer consultation meetings
• Organising, co-ordinating, and monitoring record keeping
• Organising and planning staff deployment
• Liaising effectively with colleagues, families and carers to ensure each child’s needs are met
• Working together to form a consistent approach to behaviour management
• Effectively planning and delivering parent/carer events
• Reporting any safeguarding concerns
• Keeping up to date with any changes to statutory or non-statutory guidance and procedures for the Early Years sector, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), GDPR, EYFS Statutory Framework, Development Matters, and Birth to 5
To apply for this Early Years Officer role candidates must have:
• A minimum full and relevant level 3 or equivalent Childcare / Early Years qualification
• Keyworker experience and experience using IT such as Tapestry for writing reports, observations
and tracking development
• Significant experience of working in a nursery setting with 0-5 year olds
• Experience leading planned group times
• A good understanding of the EYFS
• Paediatric first aid and safeguarding training. (Tinies can assist)
• An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service. (Tinies can assist)
• The right to work in the UK
• Candidates must be able to provide employer / education referees covering the last 5 years and be able to explain any gaps
