The family are seeking a nanny who is friendly and kind, with the ability to both be a professional and a well loved extension of the family. They are looking for someone down to earth, caring and positive, who communicates well with both children and parents, and who they can all build a long lasting relationship with. The nanny should have a great knowledge of supporting the transition phase from preschool to school, helping with the emotional changes as well as educationally, such as letters and sounds, early number recognition, as well as be in sync with the mind of a three year old who loves imaginative play, arts and crafts, sharing stories and playing outside.
The nanny will need to be experienced, with excellent references from previous roles. If coming from a nursery background or similar, the nanny will need to have demonstrable experience in roles where they held responsibility as a room leader or equivalent, and a clear commitment to being reliable and mature in their position. The Nanny should be a driver with a clean licence with their own car, although a car may be provided for duty use if required.
The Nanny's duties will include:
- Pre-school/school run in the morning and afternoon during term times for eldest child
- Planning fun and educational age appropriate play activities for afterschool and during holidays for the children
- Enjoy outdoor play opportunities, fun in the garden or local parks
- Plan and attend local classes, groups and playdates
- Helping with home learning, and homework projects and preparing for school events
- Organising the children for the day ahead
- Prepping and cooking meals and healthy snacks
- Supporting the running of the house with food shopping and errands as needed
- Supporting parents with new baby at home as needed
- Housekeeping duties during hours where no childcare is required
- Accompanying the family on some planned holidays in the UK or overseas
- Flexible to babysitting hours and possible overnight stays (spare room for the nanny) agreed in advance
- Keeping the children's play areas and activities tidy, normal nursery duties to include keeping the bedrooms clean and tidy, helping with organisation and rotation of toys, keeping the car tidy, taking care of children's laundry, organising school bags and involving the children in care and organisation of their belongings as they get older.
- Housekeeping duties to include hoovering, keeping the kitchen clean and organised, cleaning in bathrooms, laundry and turning over the beds.
- Sole charge plus care alongside parents, including when working from home
Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (also flexible to 2 days a week)
Hours: Full Days
Salary: In the region of £15 per hour, negotiable depending on experience
Start: As soon as possible
