    We’re seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join our team on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. In this vital role, you’ll support the Nursery Manager and lead the team in delivering high-quality early years education and care. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into leadership and make a real impact during a key stage in our nursery’s journey.

    Key Responsibilities

    Leadership & Management

    Support the Nursery Manager in all aspects of nursery operations.

    Act as Manager in their absence, ensuring smooth day-to-day running.

    Implement and monitor EYFS, safeguarding, and health & safety standards.

    Lead on staff inductions, supervision, appraisals, and team development.

    Ensure compliance with all nursery policies and procedures, including GDPR and safeguarding.

    Operational & Financial Oversight

    Help manage registers, rotas, attendance records, and staff deployment.

    Support financial tasks such as invoicing, petty cash, and fee tracking.

    Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and health & safety.

    Liaise with external agencies, Ofsted, and local authority as needed.

    Learning & Development

    Oversee planning, observations, assessments, and tracking of children’s progress.

    Support staff to deliver a rich, inclusive curriculum in line with the EYFS.

    Promote an environment where every child feels safe, supported, and inspired.

    People & Relationships

    Build strong relationships with staff, children, families, and professionals.

    Lead by example, creating a positive and inclusive team culture.

    Take an active role in team meetings, training, and continuous improvement.
