Nursery Deputy Manager

Job Description

  • A nursery in Binfield, Bracknell are looking for a Deputy Manager to join their team!

    Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am- 3:45pm (Term-Time Only)

    Salary: £15 per hour (£19,300 per annum, paid pro rata)

    This is a great opportunity for someone looking to take their first step into a management position. You will receive a full induction, training, and ongoing mentoring to help you grow and develop in your role.

    You will support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the setting, ensuring the highest standards of care, education, and safeguarding are maintained.


    Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    * Support children’s learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

    * Act as a Key Person for a small group of children, maintaining observations, assessments, and learning journeys.

    * Assist in the daily setup and pack down of the nursery, ensuring a safe and engaging environment.

    * Promote a friendly, inclusive, and caring atmosphere for children, parents, and staff.

    * Maintain strong communication with parents, including attending meetings and sharing progress updates.

    * Supervise and support Nursery Practitioners, offering guidance and mentoring.

    * Contribute to planning, displays, and events such as Sports Day, Christmas plays, and other activities.

    * Ensure compliance with all safeguarding, health & safety and company policies.

    * Take responsibility for the nursery in the Manager’s absence.

    * Attend training, meetings, and professional development opportunities as required.


    Requirements:

    *Level 3 Childcare qualification or above 

    * Previous experience working in an Early Years setting

    * Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures.

    * Excellent communication and leadership skills.

    * A caring, positive, and professional attitude.

    * Ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
