  • Deputy Manager - London (E16) - Full time 40 hours - £33,000-£40,000 PA - ASAP start


    About the Setting:
    This is a beautiful, brand-new nursery set in a prime riverside location overlooking the River Thames. The setting offers a modern, well-equipped environment across one floor, designed to support high-quality early years education and care. With a capacity of up to 67 children (20 babies, 22 toddlers, 25 preschool), the nursery provides a warm and engaging space for both children and staff. Fresh meals are prepared daily by an on-site chef. We are looking for an experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join the team. This role is ideal for someone ready to take the next step in their career, with a strong focus on leadership, operations, and supporting the overall running of the nursery.

    What We Need From You:

    Level 3 qualification in Childcare (or above)
    Previous experience in a deputy role within an early years setting (minimum 1 year preferred)
    Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements
    Experience with nursery operations including occupancy, funding, and enrolment
    Confident in supporting HR processes and staff management
    Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
    Proactive, reliable, and confident decision-maker

    Your Duties Will Include:
    Supporting the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the setting
    Leading and managing staff, supporting their development and performance
    Overseeing key operational areas including funding, enrolment, and occupancy
    Supporting HR processes such as staffing, rotas, and team management
    Ensuring safeguarding, health & safety, and welfare standards are consistently met
    Maintaining high standards of care and education across all rooms
    Stepping into rooms when required (including supporting in the baby room during initial onboarding period)
    Building strong relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals

    Comfortable in both office-based and hands-on environments
