Job Description

  • Preschool Practitioner – Sydenham SE26

    A beautiful, well-established nursery in SE26 is seeking a passionate and experienced Preschool Practitioner (Level 3+) to join their friendly team. This Ofsted ‘Good’ setting provides high-quality childcare within a caring, safe, and stimulating environment.

    This role is ideal for a strong practitioner with solid preschool experience — and for the right candidate, there is potential to progress into the Preschool Room Leader role.

    What we need from you:

    • Level 3 childcare qualification (minimum)
    • At least 2 years’ experience, ideally within a preschool room
    • Strong experience completing school transition reports
    • Knowledge or experience of SEN/SENCO responsibilities
    • Commitment and reliability
    • A genuine passion for delivering outstanding early years care
    • Ability to work effectively within a team
    • Broad understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements

    Your responsibilities:

    • Take responsibility for a key group of preschool children
    • Deliver engaging learning opportunities that prepare children for school
    • Plan and implement effective teaching and learning tailored to individual needs
    • Safeguard and promote children’s health, safety, and wellbeing
    • Build strong partnerships with colleagues, parents/carers, and external professionals
    • Complete accurate observations, assessments, and school transition reports
    • Support inclusive practice and contribute to SEN processes where needed
