Job Description

  • Deputy Manager - Beaconsfield

    Role Overview
    The Deputy Manager will assist the Manager in the day-to-day running of the early years setting, ensuring the highest standards of care, learning, and development are maintained for all children. The Deputy Manager will also lead and inspire the team, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and fostering a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for children, staff, and families.

    Salary - Up to £35,000 gross per annum 
    Full time - 40 hours per week (4 long days or 5 x 8 hour days)
    Setting open hours - 7.30am to 6.30pm all year around 

    Key Responsibilities
    Leadership & Management
    Support the Manager with the day-to-day running of the setting.
    Lead, mentor and supervise staff, promoting high-quality childcare practice.
    Manage rotas and step into the Manager’s role when required.

    Childcare & Education
    Deliver and oversee the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
    Monitor teaching quality and ensure inclusive practice, including support for SEND.
    Build nurturing relationships to support children’s emotional and physical wellbeing.

    Safeguarding & Compliance
    Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and Ofsted requirements.
    Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (or Deputy DSL).
    Maintain accurate records and keep policies up to date.

    Parent & Community Engagement
    Build positive partnerships with parents and carers.
    Address concerns professionally and promote the setting locally.

    Administration
    Support budgeting, occupancy monitoring and general administration.
    Ensure policies and procedures are followed consistently.

    Person Specification
    Qualifications
    Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification (or equivalent).
    Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding training (or willingness to obtain).

    Experience & Skills
    Experience in an early years setting, including leadership responsibilities.
    Strong knowledge of EYFS and Ofsted standards.
    Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
    Sound knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
