Job Description

  • Room Leader - Beaconsfield 

    Salary - up to £28,000 gross per annum 
    Hours - 40 per week (4 long days or 5 x 8 hour days)
    Setting opening - 7.30am to 6.30pm all year around

    Job Purpose
    As a Room Leader you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality early years education and care. You will support children’s learning and development through planned, purposeful play, ensuring every child feels safe, valued, and inspired to learn.

    Key Responsibilities
    Plan and deliver engaging activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
    Act as a key person, supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing.
    Observe, assess and record progress to inform next steps.
    Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment (indoors and outdoors).
    Support personal care routines and promote positive behaviour.
    Work in partnership with parents and carers, sharing progress and updates.
    Follow safeguarding, health and safety procedures at all times.
    Maintain accurate records, including learning journals.
    Contribute to teamwork and ongoing professional development.

    Person Specification
    Essential:
    Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.
    Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework.
    Experience in an early years setting.
    Confident in planning, assessment and record keeping.
    Good communication and organisational skills.
    Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.

    Desirable:
    Paediatric First Aid certificate.
    Key person experience.
    Knowledge of SEND and inclusive practice.
    Experience using online learning journals.
