Job Description

  • Deputy Manager/Room Leader - Peterborough PE1 - Term Time Only - Full time 36 hours - £28,000 PA - ASAP start 

    We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Nursery Manager / Room Leader to join a well-established nursery setting. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to support the overall leadership of the nursery while also taking responsibility for leading a room and ensuring high-quality care and education. The setting provides a nurturing and professional environment where children receive the highest standards of care, and staff are supported to develop and grow. This role would suit a confident leader who is passionate about early years education and enjoys working both operationally and within a room-based role.

    Requirements
    Level 3 qualification in Early Years (Level 5 desirable)
    Previous experience working with children aged 0–5
    Experience in a supervisory or leadership role
    Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and child development
    Experience working with SEN and external agencies desirable
    Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills
    Ability to lead a team and manage a room effectively

    Responsibilities
    Support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day running of the nursery
    Deputise in the absence of the Nursery Manager
    Lead a room, ensuring high standards of care, learning, and development
    Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities in line with EYFS
    Support, mentor, and supervise staff, including appraisals and training
    Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies
    Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
    Support safeguarding, health & safety, and overall wellbeing of children
    Contribute to team meetings, planning, and continuous improvement of the setting

  • Shift: 4 days 8am-6pm & 1 day 8am-1pm
