Job Description

  • Job Purpose:

    To provide high-quality care and early years education for children aged 2–3 years in a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment. Supporting toddlers’ development through play, positive interactions, and meaningful experiences.

    Key Responsibilities:

    - Good knowledge of EYFS - Plan age-appropriate activities - Observe and assess development - Support independence and learning through play - Build relationships with children and families

    Daily Responsibilities:

    - Support children at meal times - Nappy changing and personal care - Engage in play and extend learning - Support independence - Use positive reinforcement - Support emotions and behaviour - Manage challenging behaviour calmly - Embed learning into play

    Safeguarding & Welfare:

    - Follow safeguarding procedures - Ensure children’s safety and wellbeing - Maintain confidentiality

    Health & Safety:

    - Maintain a safe environment - Follow health & safety procedures - Support routines including meals and hygiene

    Person Specification:

    Essential: - Level 2 or 3 qualification - Good knowledge of EYFS - Experience with toddlers Desirable: - Paediatric First Aid - SEND knowledge
