The Role
A warm and welcoming family based in Barnsbury, Islington is seeking an experienced, caring and engaging nanny to provide sole-charge care for their young child.
The family is looking for a nanny who is incredibly kind, calm, nurturing and creative, with a genuine passion for supporting children's development. They would love to find someone who enjoys reading, language development and imaginative play, and who can help foster a love of learning from an early age.
The ideal nanny will enjoy planning fun and engaging activities both at home and out and about in the local area, helping the child discover new experiences and build confidence through play and exploration. Building a strong bond is really important to the family, so they are looking for someone who is warm, calm, kind and naturally nurturing in their approach.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Sole-charge care of one child.
* Providing all aspects of physical care and wellbeing.
* Establishing and maintaining a consistent routine around naps, meals and play.
* Planning and delivering age-appropriate activities that support holistic development.
* Encouraging language development through books, stories, songs and creative play.
* Researching and organising local classes, activities and outings.
* Taking the child on age-appropriate outings and adventures within the local area.
* Preparing healthy, balanced and nutritious meals and snacks.
* Maintaining regular communication with parents regarding routines, development and daily activities.
* Caring for the child when unwell, including administering medication if required and attending emergency medical appointments if necessary.
* Keeping the nursery and play areas clean, organised and well maintained.
* Taking responsibility for the child's equipment, including cleaning and maintaining items such as the buggy, toys and feeding equipment.
* Supporting the child's emotional wellbeing, confidence and independence.
Qualifications & Experience
The family is looking for a nanny who holds:
* A valid Paediatric First Aid qualification.
* A relevant childcare qualification.
* Previous professional childcare experience caring for young children.
* Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities.
* Experience establishing routines around naps, meals and play.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Full-Time Nanny: A nanny who works regular, full-time hours providing consistent daily childcare and support to a family.

Live-In Nanny: A live-in nanny resides in the family home, with a private bedroom or private living quarters. They offer comprehensive childcare, including supervision, meal preparation, and overnight care when needed.
Holiday Nanny: A nanny hired to accompany a family on holiday, offering childcare and assistance throughout the trip, usually temporarily.
Nanny with New Born Experience: A nanny with newborn experience specialises in caring for infants. They have specialist knowledge in relation to feeding, sleep routines and developmental activities for the baby.
