Job Description

  • Nursery Practitioner - Level 3

    Salary: £25,542 gross per annum

    28 days holiday

    General Responsibilities:

    Support the Nursery Manager and team in the day-to-day running of the nursery, creating a welcoming, safe, and nurturing environment.

    Adhere to all nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health & safety, inclusion, curriculum, and GDPR.

    Maintain flexibility to work across age groups or locations if required, and support team members as needed.

    Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers, and staff, maintaining confidentiality at all times.

    Support and supervise apprentices, students, or volunteers.

    Participate in staff meetings, training, supervision, and self-evaluation processes to improve practice.

    Maintain high standards of hygiene and ensure cleanliness in all areas, including toilets, changing areas, and play spaces.

    Learning & Development:

    Respect and respond to each child’s individual needs, avoiding favouritism.

    Act as a key worker to a group of children, supporting their care, learning, and development through planning, observations, and assessments in line with the EYFS.

    Ensure smooth induction and transition processes, sharing information with parents and professionals.

    Keep parents informed about their child’s well-being and development and guide them on accessing further information or raising concerns.

    Use children's interests and learning styles to inform planning and teaching.

    Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including Tapestry entries and reports.

    Ensure visual displays reflect diversity, skills, and children’s learning, maintaining high presentation standards.

    Additional Duties:

    Perform any other duties as required by the Nursery Manager or management team to support nursery operations and child outcomes.
