Job Description

  • A small, friendly nursery in Bedford (MK40) are looking for a term time only Nursery Practitioner to become part of their close-knit team, dedicated to putting children first and supporting them to learn through play, indoors and outdoors, in all weathers.

    The hours for this Nursery Practitioner role are 9.00am – 4.30pm, Monday to Friday (term-time only, 38 weeks per year) plus minimum 5 days per year assisting with the holiday club.

    This role would suit a team player who shares the settings child-first ethos, someone who enjoys outdoor learning and has a positive, professional approach to working with children and families.

    Duties for this Nursery Practitioner role include:

    • All childcare duties

    • To work as a team and to liaise with colleagues, families and carers effectively

    • To be a key carer for a group of children by observing, monitoring and recording each child’s development. Ensuring records are accurate and up to date

    • To be responsible for the re-stocking, tidiness and development of a designated area within the nursery

    • To assist in the provision of an attractive and stimulating range of equipment, activities and displays, indoors and out, relevant to the ages and needs of the children, which encourage independence, self motivation and an eagerness to learn

    To apply for this Nursery Practitioner role candidates must have:

    • A minimum full and relevant level 3 or equivalent Childcare / Early Years qualification

    • Previous experience of working in a nursery

    • Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework, keyworker systems and record keeping

    • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (Tinies can assist)

    • The right to work in the UK

    • Candidates must be able to provide employer / education referees covering the last 5 years

    Rate of pay is £13.00 gross per hour.
