Nursery Practitioner

Job Description

  • A well established, private day nursery in Northampton (NN3) is seeking a Nursery Practitioner to join their welcoming team who is passionate about the relationships they form with the children, staff, parents and families, ensuring each child receives the best learning and education.

    This role is ideally full time and there is the option of working the hours over four or five days per week. The opening hours of the nursery are Monday – Friday from 7.30am – 6pm with the Nursery Practitioner working 40 hours per week on a shift basis between these times. The nursery can also consider 30 hours per week over three days.

    This position is to work within the baby room.

    To apply for this Nursery Practitioner job candidates must have:

    • A minimum full and relevant level 2 / 3 or equivalent Childcare / Early Years qualification

    • A minimum of 1 year previous early years experience and experience working with babies

    • A good knowledge of the EYFS framework and keyworker experience

    • Paediatric first aid and safeguarding training. (Tinies can assist)

    • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service. (Tinies can assist)

    • The right to work in the UK

    • Candidates must be able to provide employer / education referees covering the last 5 years and be able to explain any gaps

    Duties for this Nursery Practitioner job include:

    • To work as a team and to liaise effectively with colleagues, parents carers and management

    • To undertake Keyworker duties including tracking development and carrying out observations

    • All childcare duties, supervising indoor and outdoor play and activities

    • Planning educational and fun activities

    • Implementing the EYFS

    The salary being offered is negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.
