Job Description
- Job Title: Temporary Nanny – July 2025
Location: Edinburgh, Scotland
Start Date: 8th July 2025
End Date: 29th July 2025
Hours:
? Monday to Friday, 9:00am -7:00pm (flexible, can also consider 10:00am-8:00pm, with options for exact schedule to vary day-to-day)
? Saturdays, 8:00am – 4:00pm (only if available, but would love to have if possible!)
Overview:
We are looking for a caring, responsible, and experienced nanny to provide temporary support for a family visiting Edinburgh over a three-week period in July 2025. The role involves caring for their 13-month-old baby, with a focus on nurturing, play, and age-appropriate stimulation.
A note from the parents:
We want someone who has a genuine love for children, and who isn't afraid to cut loose and dance or sing a Disney song at the top of your lungs :) We are two chill Americans working in the arts (journalist, screenwriter) and in general we like to think we are pretty amazing to work for! If you're a little late, no problem. If you need to leave early, no problem. If you need a day off, no problem. Just let us know. (Mom has a flexible schedule herself and can accommodate most anything.) We travel to the UK often for work, and would love to build a relationship with someone we can potentially work with again in future.
We want our nanny to enjoy her time with our baby boy. Just read to him, take him on walks, play with him, feed him when needed, etc. We do not need someone to teach him Mandarin or do the dishes. Just make him smile is all we ask. He's an easy baby and you will get to know his cues easily :) Thank you for considering working with us!
Key Responsibilities:
? Providing attentive personal care (feeding, changing, settling for naps)
? Engaging the baby with play and developmental activities
? Planning and supervising safe, enriching outings (e.g. parks, museums, etc.)
? Maintaining a clean and organised environment related to the baby’s care
? Communicating effectively with parents about the child’s day and needs
Candidate Requirements:
? Previous experience caring for infants around 1 year of age
? Kind, patient, and proactive nature
? Paediatric First Aid certification (preferred)
Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience
