Job Description

  • Nursery Nurse BEDALE 

    Tinies have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Early Years Practitioner or Early Years Educator in the beautiful market town of Bedale, North Yorkshire

    We are looking for cover until at least October half term at a stunning nursery in the heart of the town, working with an established team to care for children aged 0 - 5 years.

    The nursery offer rooms to suit ages 0-15 months, 15- 30 months and 30 months to reception; each with different aims and activities to match every child’s developmental stages.  In addition to these play spaces children benefit from a creative studio space, gardens and the opportunity to go out & about on their minibus!

    The nursery are looking for someone who can offer 40 hours per week if possible, but can be flexible if someone would only be able to offer 30. Full days preferred but may be flexible. 8am or 8:30 am starts. Must be a regular schedule for the next few months. There may be further opportunities for work in our supply team, or application to permanent positions that lead on for this role.     The nursery are looking for level 2 or 3 qualified candidates only, and would like someone who has an up to date First Aid qualification (please ask about our courses if you are looking to renew this). Travel incentive may be available if you work full days (such as 8am-5:30pm/8:30am-6pm) over the required hours above and live out of area (i.e. significantly over 30 minutes' drive

    Job Overview

    As a Tinies temporary Nursery Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education for children in a nursery setting. Your primary responsibility will be to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports the development and well-being of each child. You will work closely with children, families and colleagues to ensure that every child's individual needs are met while promoting their social, emotional, and educational growth.

    Duties
    • Provide attentive care to children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.Follow nursery planning and help children engage in activities that promote learning through play in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

    • Observe children and pass on information to the nursery team, communicating effectively regarding the child's development and daily activities.
    • Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their independence and self-esteem.
    • Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming nursery environment.
    • Support the management team in maintaining high standards of care and education within the nursery.


    Skills

    • Experience working with children in a childcare or nursery setting is essential.
    • A passion for childcare and a commitment to creating a positive learning environment for young children.
    • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
    • Excellent communication skills in English to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
    • A positive approach, can-do attitude with willingness to adapt and be helpful to the needs of the children and nursery


    Qualifications

    • Level 2 or 3 early years qualification or above
    • A driving licence and car is helpful, or a willingness to travel in the local area
    • Current Paediatric First Aid (6 or 12hr with practical assessment - please ask us if you need to update about courses)
    • An enhanced DBS for the Childcare Workforce on Gov Update Service (Tinies can support you with this)
    • Safeguarding Training (offered free as part of taking up the role)
