Crèche for SportFest by Tinies
Childcare for 0-4yrs while elder siblings attend Coaching Sessions
SportFest is a unique chance for children aged 5 to 16 to learn more about the sports they love, to discover new ones, to develop skills, make new friends, and to be inspired by legends of the game and expert coaches.
The event also gives parents and children plenty of other opportunities to have a fantastic fun-filled weekend, with walking trails, personal training sessions, health sessions and plenty of other family activities for everyone to enjoy.
SportFest is operated by Superskills & Mint Event Management.
Type of contract
Managed Service Contract. We operate the crèche provision in its entirety. This includes:
- Health & Safety
- Recruitment and deployment of staff
- Training & development
- Creating programmes for children from 0-4yrs
- Working with marketing to engage with families
- Liaising with authorities & meeting legislation
Size of contract: 2 days per year.
Length of contract: Ongoing. We have managed the crèche 2013 - 2014.

The SportFest brief
We provide 3 childcare sessions per day, for the youngest attendees of SportFest, in line with the coaching sessions. The crèche caters for up to 45 children per session, with a mixture of activities, entertainment, creative and artistic activities.
Delivery: Operating out of a free Standing Marquee with no secure boundaries, Tinies had to adapt to ensure child safety in line with H&S.
We worked with the Venue operators to ensure access to a separate portable toilet and baby changing facilities. We had First Aid trained staff but again working with the operators, we were situated close to the St Johns Ambulance tent for backup.
We operated an 'on the day' booking system for families to choose which sessions they wanted their children to attended, ensuring we were within ratios.
We had both an indoor and outdoor activity stations as well as a separate entertainer in a different part of the venue.
Tinies were contacted by the Event company working on behalf of SportFest & SuperSkills. We initially provided a fully comprehensive quote including crèche, candy floss stand, entertainers, jugglers, ball pit, Sumo Suits, cheerleading session, balloon modellers. The Client's budget meant we provided the fully managed crèche only.
Due to the crèche being outdoors, a full and through risk assessment of the Venue was undertaken prior to the conference and covers all safety and security measures. We liaise with the chosen location direct and just reassure our client that all checks have been carried out prior to the day.
Tinies select a fully qualified team who possess varied skills to ensure we can cater for all ages attending. This team has to be chosen in advance in order to pass through the enhanced security checks required for a government event. All team members are interviewed, reference checked and hold a DBS or PVG check (police check), ensuring the safety of the children. The Tinies Team are easily identifiable in their 'Tinies' uniform' - polo shirts with logo, black trousers / shorts and name badges.
Post the event we always ask for feedback and share this with the client. A debrief call is held to address any issues and make sure all parties are happy with the execution.
Prior to running subsequent crèches we have met with the Event Company to make any changes to ensure another successful service.
