Extra Tuition

Would your child benefit from additional tuition? Find out more about extra tuition

What is extra tuition?

Extra tuition is available in all subjects taught at school; it supports children with school work and exam preparation.

In some cases, it can involve helping your child with their set homework, supplying extra support and materials on specific areas within a subject that your child is finding difficult, or provide them with the confidence to succeed at the National Curriculum.

It can be geared to either stretch and challenge your child, or focus and consolidate areas of learning that have been covered in the classroom.

Why should I consider extra tuition for my child?

Every child learns differently. Some struggle to focus in a full classroom and benefit from small group tuition or one-to-one sessions.

Tuition can help them in many ways; from supporting your child academically, to helping them feel that they can finally achieve something they once thought impossible.

When a child struggles with one area at school, they can find it hard to achieve across the board. Tuition can help those children who are struggling to master the areas of difficulty and make their academic endeavours easier to approach.

What will my child gain from extra tuition?

Every child's experience with tuition will be a little different, as will what they take away from the sessions.

A child can gain confidence, achieve academic improvement, and improve their school performance when they attend tuition sessions regularly, whilst working towards clear targets with their tutor.

What tuition is right for my child?

Choosing tuition for your child is a personal decision, and it's not right for everyone. But, if you've decided to look into tuition for your child, here are a few things to consider:

  • What do you want your child to get out of tuition?
  • Do they work better in isolation, or is learning to work in group situations important for their development?
  • What can you afford?
  • How much time can your child commit to tuition?
