Full Time Head of Room Job in Kent

Job description

 
Room leader- TN9 - Level 3 - £11.25 + Per hour.

We are curerntly looking for qualified Room Leader for our Preschool room in Tonbridge (TN9). We are a private day care nursery located in Tonbridge - a 7 minute walk from Tonbridge Station. The Nursery is situated in a beautiful converted house with spacious grounds and is conveniently located for both local residents and commuters to London. We are open full-time from 7:30am - 6:30pm, caring for children from 3 months to 5 years.

The shift patterns are over 4 days a week and one day off. 41 days over 4 days.

The successful candidate will have a keen and positive attitude along with excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong, encouraging relationships with children, parents and colleagues and have excellent interpersonal skills and with proven supervisory and coaching experience.

Your main tasks and duties will include

  • Ensuring high quality childcare and education is provided in a safe and clean room.

  • Ensuring you are a role model for staff including high levels of professionalism and standards of appearance.

  • Coaching, mentoring and supervising the Nursery practitioners within the room ensuring they are fulfilling their roles and responsibilities.

  • Providing support to the Nursery Manager.

  • Carrying out termly supervisions, observations and cohort tracking.

  • Ensuring the Early Years Foundation Stage is embedded and adhered to.

  • Ensuring the room display boards and communication boards are up to date and relevant.

  • Ensuring the Key Person's information is up to date.

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

- Full and relevant Early Years qualification Level 3 or above

  • Minimum 1 years' post qualification (Room Leader)

  • Supervisory and coaching experience (Room Leader)

  • Awareness and working knowledge of the EYFS

  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures

  • Understanding of the Ofsted inspection framework

  • Experience of working within a team in a similar role

  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements

This is a full time position. Salary is based on experience, qualifications, and the suitability of the successful candidate.
